Prior to joining Johnston Legal Group, Mr. Piland spent the last 10 years working as the chief prosecutor and chief legal counsel for Champaign County, Illinois in his capacity as State’s Attorney. While there he established the Champaign County Children’s Advocacy Center. He was responsible for supervision of criminal and civil cases and the administration of an office of 20 attorneys.

He has over seven years experience working in an insurance defense firm in Illinois with a concentrated in civil litigation.

He is a 33º Mason.
